MP backs biodiesel tax break project

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.

Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel presently benefit from a 20p differential however that is because of end next April.

The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been fulfilling with the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.

Mr George stated "a variety of little businesses in Cornwall presently earn money from used cooking oil".

He included: "In order to be able to get this kind of industry going it does require just a little bit of lift which comes in the form of tax inescapable."
